Privacy policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
Naamia helps families choose a baby name together. It is run by Redwood Creative, LLC (“we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Naamia website or app, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your data, show ads, or share it with advertisers.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, email address and profile picture from Google when you sign in with Google, or your email and a securely hashed password if you sign up with email.
- What you put in a register. The register's name and family name, the names you add or dismiss, your ratings, notes, the full-name combinations you try, and who you've invited. Everyone in a register can see its names and each member's ratings.
- Your settings. Theme, colours, name font and the name traits you prefer in Discover.
- Sign-in records. For each session, its IP address and device type (user agent), so sessions can be secured and signed out.
- Usage statistics. Anonymous page-view counts through Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, save your register and show it to the people you invited.
- To suggest names in Discover that suit your ratings.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To answer you when you contact us.
Who else handles it
We use a few service providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:
- Vercel hosts the app and counts page views.
- Neon hosts our databases.
- Google handles sign-in when you choose Google.
- Anthropic and Voyage AI help write name meanings and find similar names. We may send them names that people add to registers, never who added them or anything else about you.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a buyer if the business is ever sold, under this same policy.
Cookies and storage on your device
We use one cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser also stores your appearance settings, and the app saves pages you've visited so it works offline. Signing out clears the saved pages. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from the You tab. That removes your account and sign-in records straight away. Registers you share with another parent stay for them, and your ratings stay in those registers without your name attached. A register where you are the last parent is deleted with all its names and ratings. Copies in backups expire within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your data in the app, and delete it by deleting your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to get a copy of your data, correct it, or object to how we use it. Email redwoodcreativeadmin@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
Naamia is for parents and family, not for children. You must be at least 13 to use it, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has made an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, passwords are hashed, and access to our databases is restricted. No service is perfectly secure, but we work to protect yours.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email first.
